A new edition of the book - Ὑπομνήματα is under preparation

What others are to an ascetic in a monastic community (obštežić), that is a notebook to an anchorite. Memory can betray, but what is written remains. Since Plutarch, Ὑπομνήματα is a form of writing that enables the author to correspond more easily with recipients. Not having time to write down the answer to Fundanus, Plutarch decides on this form of writing. It is a reminder of permanent truths through the gaze of another in an epistolary form. The categories of the past will not be clear without a trace in the present. Ὑπομνήματα in the ascetic tradition is man alone because man is a word in itself. In other words, the discovery of the self by the self through the need for permanence in the discovery of the self. Just as the relationship and encounter with the other is defined through the practice of asceticism, writing takes place in the domain of the movement of the soul. In the book, they are defined by the form of confession and polemic with realities that are incident or provocative.

The manuscript in front of us consists of the author's notes on great jubilees related to famous figures of the Church and Christianity. With their exemplary and holy life, these people marked the epochs and times in which they lived and worked. They are followed by homilies for holidays that were produced at divine Liturgies and on other occasions, translations, as well as processed theological, philosophical and exegetical theses. The metanarrative of the book belongs to the domain of historiosophy, theology and apologetics, which is in its very title. Ὑπομνήματα (ipomnimata) is a concise author's collection of things that were written, read, heard and experienced. It is the inner response of the depth of the soul to all the reasons for the creation of the text. The reasons are not only positive, which is the essence of the reason for the title. It is reflected in internal struggles that are manifested externally and come to the fore. The autonarrative genre in the everyday rush of life is best suited for answering enduring truths through everyday questions and events.
